Co-ops from across the country share in the cost of bringing us all together for the annual meeting through the travel pool. This helps evenly distribute the cost of getting to the AGM from different parts of Canada. A small part of each delegate registration fee goes into the travel pool.
Co-ops that pay more than $800 for their delegate’s airfare to the AGM get money back from the pool. Smaller co-ops (26 to 50 units) are refunded the difference between $800 and the cost of an economy ticket or actual cost (whichever is less). Co-ops with more than 50 units that pay more than $800 will get back half of the difference between $800 and the cost of an economy ticket. No one will get less than $50. Delegates from co-ops with 25 units or less will not pay more than $250. You can get a travel rebate form at the AGM. The application deadline is August 1, 2018.
Book early — you’ll want the cheapest fare possible (we use that to calculate your delegate’s travel rebate). Make sure your flight arrives in time for you to register and attend the Welcome Reception at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, and the Member Education Forum workshops that begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 7. If you’re attending the Co-operative Management Conference, the kickoff lunch starts at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6.
